This little sweetie is from a collection of "Cherished Teddies" rubber stamps. Every year she puts on her wings to play her favorite part in the Annual Christmas Pageant! When I first got started on this card, I assumed she would be wearing the traditional white that most angels wear. But, then I just couldn't resist pulling the pale mauve~plum colors from the background paper. I used the irridescnet "Sugar Glitter" on the trim of her robes and Pearl paints for her garland of holly. Her wings are also painted using Pearl Paints. I used 3 differnt ribbons from the holiday collection I found at Michael's and punched out leaves and snowflakes with my Martha Stewart paper punches. I then brushed craft glue onto them and sprinkled glitter all over them. They sure do sparkle! I hand~stitched my pale metallic~mauve beads around the nesties and border of the card . There you have it! A very SPECIAL Christmas Card! I truly hope you enjoy it!

Ballerina Bear

Isn't this little gal the cutest? I have to say that the whole time I was putting this card together, I kept thinking of chocolate! Mmm... with caramel... (Bad Michelle! You know what that does to your girlish figure!) What can I say! I do love chocolate and caramel! So, I went and bought some! It's for the Trick~or~Treaters on Halloween! (Wink! Wink!)

I put this card together using a classic Stampin Up image, dressed her in pink using water colors and pearl paints for her fur. She is popped for that 3~dimensional effect. The background paper is from a glitter stack I found at the craft store. I put a little gloss on her toe shoes and glitter on her tutu. Then I used my new Cricut (thanks hubby!) to cut the swirl accents from the Home Accents cartridge. I raided my stash of beads that I've collected over the years and hand~stitched them around the border. While shopping for groceries at our local Wal-mart I stumbled upon these lovely flower sequins (no where near the grocery section) and just new they would be perfect for this card. So I used my beads again to sew into the centers of the flowers! Of course the ovals are nestabilities cut in different colors!

A Gift of Peace

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great, but of course entirely TOO Short! It sure is a good thing we get another one in five days! I never have enough time to do all the things I want to!

I found this sweet Stampin Up image a while back and have been looking forward to working with it. I decided to call this card "A Gift of Peace" because it invokes such a soothing feeling when I look at it. I painted all the little critters using either water color paints or Stampin Up inks and then sparkled them up a bit with glitter. The Angel's dress was painted using Pearl Ex paints and then added little dots of glitter as well. I cut out the animals in front and layered them for a dimensional effect. Then for the background of the card I used a Christmas themed paper, added some beads (since I can't help it!) and wove my new collection of Christmas ribbons all around. It really does look like a gift don't you think?!

Simple Pleasures

Welcome to my very first post to my Brand New Blog! This is a very new experience for me and I'm really looking forward to sharing all of my fun, creative projects with all everyone.

This card was such a fun one to create. It brought back many happy memories of when my 2 oldest sons were small and playing in the huge amounts of leaves we have every fall. Those were much simpler times for them. (They are now in their teens and still fun to be around! lol)! Thankfully, my youngest son still loves to romp in the leaves. Times like these that make me realize how important it is to take the time and enjoy the "Simple Pleasures" in life!

The main image has been heat embossed with clear embossing powder that has added iridescent glitter and layered for a 3~dimensional effect. This little guy's shoes have a glossy effect, while the leaves he is playing in sparkle with glitter. I stamped the larger leaves onto colored designer paper using black ink and heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder with iridescent glitter mixed into it, I then cut them out and scattered them onto the card like real fallen leaves. This fun card is embellished with glitter, hand~stitched beads and shiny yellow flat beads. The light catching dimension is spectacular! I've also machine stitched around the border several times with 2 different colored threads.
