Happy 4th of July!!!

Here's a sweet treat I made to celebrate this coming 4th of July week.   This scrumptious cupcake is part of a fun set available over at McMahon 5 Designs today.   Makes me wish for a real sugary cupcake to eat right now!  :)

We are going to have an exciting 4th of July this year.  My hubby is in a really great band called "Bartender 4 Mayor" and they will be the opening act for John Michael Montgomery at our city's annual Freedom 4th Celebration.  Its a huge event held each year with live music, food vendors and of course Fireworks at the Balloon Fiesta Park here in Albuquerque.   Needless to say, we are completely beyond excited!  If you're here in ABQ come on out and enjoy the fun with us.  Happy 4th of July everyone!

Surfer Dude

Has the summer heat set in where you live?  It most definitely has here in the Southwest part of the country.  We've had triple digit temps for the last few days and its only June.  Yikes!  This is a brand new Surfer Dude image in the McMahon Five Designs Store.  Its such a fun image that took me back to my teen years hanging out all summer on the beach in Oceanside, CA...
I sure do miss those days.  :)

Puddle Jumper

Better late than never right?  I had this card all ready to share last week, but when I got ready to photograph it, my camera was completely dead AND the charging cord decided it didn't work anymore.  So here I am this week instead.  Its more fitting today because we have rain in our forecast for today and tomorrow.  I'll be puddle jumping as I try to get my tomatoes planted.  :)

I've been spending a TON of time cleaning up our backyard.  These past 2 years (almost) have been full of changes and adjusting to our new normal since my dear mother-in-law passed away.  There isn't a day that goes by when she isn't in my thoughts.   Our backyard has been the last thing on our minds.  I really hope to make it beautiful once again.  :)  Have a wonderful weekend!

Wishes of Love

Happy February everyone!  Today I'm sharing a sweet image from McMahon 5 Designs called Wishes of Love.  Perfect for Valentines Day.  I love to combine pinks and greens together.  These happy colors make me anticipate the coming of Spring even more.  And we only have about a month and a half until Spring arrives.  Yay!  I'm ready to chase these winter blues away.  Come on sunny weather!  :)

Saving Seeds for Spring

We are experiencing some beautiful, sunny weather with temps in the mid to upper 50's all this week.  And after suffering the most miserable cold/flu over Christmas, I have got SPRING FEVER big time right now!  But its too soon here to really do much out in the garden yet except clean it up.... And I DID work out there for a while today.  I have tons of work ahead of me in that department.  I hope to get out there and take advantage of the pretty weather all this week.    I also decided, while slicing up some bell peppers this afternoon, that I would save the seeds this time.
I LOVE Bell Peppers.  Yum!!!
I saved them in separate jars and labeled them according to color.  I've not had much luck here in NM growing bell peppers in the past.  But I'm willing to give it another shot this year.  Wish me luck!  :)

A Healthy Delicious Treat

Look what is baking in my oven right now!  These are Peanut Butter Banana Flax Seed Muffins.  I found the recipe on Pinterest.  I had a few bananas that needed to be used today and this is where they went.  Let me tell you, my house smells HEAVENLY right now.  And if the taste of the batter is any indication... I'm gonna be making these a lot.  I love baked goods, but I don't always love the way they make my clothes fit.  (I hate how that works).  But at least this treat is LOADED with healthy goodness!

I usually only share paper~crafts here but, my interests are soooo varied that I want to be able to share them with you all as well.  I love baking, sewing, gardening, jewelry making, repurposing old found objects, dabbling in crochet... The list goes on and on.  So, starting today you can expect to see all sorts of things I'm getting into... along with my paper~crafts.  I hope you'll enjoy my Very Easily Distracted Attention Span this coming year.  Lol! :)

Ok, the timer on my oven just beeped so I need to go check these muffins.

Fruit of the Spirit

Happy New Year!

This is my first card of the year.  :)  Hopefully, I'll have many more creations to come.  (More than I was able to fit in last year at least).  I'm looking forward to a creative and productive year.
Today there is a whole new series of images available over at McMahon Five Designs called Fruit of the Spirit.  Its a wonderful set with a variety of different fruits and verses.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My Guys...

It's not often that these men of mine will sit still long enough to take a picture.  And they for sure would never get dressed up for one!  As you can see T-Shirts rule at our house.  (But these T-Shirts are their "Formal" ones).  Lol!  This picture is soooo special to me because these men are the reason I get up each day.

Faith Sees

I LOVE this new sentiment!  It's available today at McMahon Five Designs for you, HERE.  I've decided to make this into a plaque for my wall.  It's just over 8" x 8" in size.  I'm going to mount it onto an art canvas (as soon as I can find a spare moment to get to the craft store) and then hang it in my kitchen.

Sunflowers

Hello!  How is everyone these days?  Is summer starting to wind down for you?  It is here.  Everyone is back to school and routines are settling in.  I'm always resistant to going back to routines initially, but then about a week or two in, I'm pretty happy to be back at it.  McMahon 5 Designs has a couple of new images available today, including a freebie.  I'm sharing this beautiful Sunflower.  The fun thing about this one is that it is already colored and ready to go.  But, you also have the choice of coloring it yourself if you prefer.  Have a safe and fun Labor Day!

Desk Chair Make Over

Before
(See how much my kittys have enjoyed to top and side edges of it?)
After

LAST summer I went searching for a new desk chair and couldn't find one that I liked well enough to spend a chunk of money on.  Then, LAST SUMMER I found this upholstery fabric for 2.97 per yard at Wal-Mart.  I thought it might work for covering this ugly chair so because it was so cheap, I bought the whole dang bolt.  I think I spent about 24 dollars.  A year later, I finally buckled down and decided to see if I could do this.  It was pretty easy and I can't believe I procrastinated for a whole year to do this.  It done in two sections.  The backrest is simply layered over, tucked and slip-stitched with heavy duty button thread along the sides and lower edge.  And the seat is attached with a staple gun all along the under-side.  For the money I spent, I'm pretty happy with it.  And I still have plenty of fabric left to re-do my counter stools too. :)
