Teddy Bear Hugs ~ MMSC40

In addition to having Cornish Heritage Farms as our sponsor for the month, we also are thrilled to have Stamp and Create as our weekly sponsor this week. :) I've used this really sweet image from the Wags & Whiskers stamp line that can be found over in the Stamp and Create store.
Wow! This week's sketch turned out to be a little more challenging than I originally thought it would be. :) I love the sketch, but when it came to actually putting it to paper, I must admit I was stumped for a while. What I ended up doing is using a Spellbinders Labels Four and cutting it in half to make the purple section on the side and then I used my Top Note SU die-cut to cut the M5D Wood Paper section, which I also ran through a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I've never tried an embossing folder with the wood paper before and was amazed at how well it worked! :) All of these pieces were then lightly shaded with SU Magenta ink along the edges and raised embossed areas. I really like the effect it made. I also added Diamond Stickles to the Prima Flowers and the little girl's dress, hair and wings. There is a little green metallic sequin butterfly (I hope that counts in the Wags & Whiskers Challenge) hovering near the Prima flowers and little iridescent sequin flowers randomly placed with purple rhinestones layered on top all around.
Be sure to make some time to play along with us this week and link up your creation over at the Midnight Madness Blog to be included in our weekly and monthly drawings for some great prizes! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Michelle-embossing that wood paper is really eye catching. I didn't know it was wood...but I do love how deeply embossed it looks and how striking it is. Your panel looks amazing...you did a great job with creating that. Your embellishments make this such a charming, attractive, stylish card. Simply beautiful.

Hey Creative Michelle, I would never have thought to use the spellbinder labels and make that the border on the side. Came out wonderful! And the wood paper, nice touch, I was always afraid to emboss it, else it might break, but now I know I can! Lol, You Rocked the sketch this week, xox ~Jeni

Hi Michell,

Sorry I haven't been by in SOOOO long. I think I have just a tad overcommitted myself with DT work - be careful what you ask for, right? Thanks for the nice compliment you left on my blog last week!

I have to tell you, this card is fabulous. I really LOVE the way you handled this difficult sketch with the Spellbinders die cuts! Beautiful color combo and coloring job too! It was so nice to see you joining in the fun with the Pile it On girls this week!
