Koala Wall Hanging ~ MMSC5

Happy Tuesday! And you know what that means? It's time for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #5! This week I decided to try another altered project instead of a card.
I found these really great wooden plaques at my local dollar store. There were the perfect 6 x 6 size and already had the holes pre~drilled for adding my beaded hanger.
The image I used is the artwork of a very talented and sweet friend, Shawne. She has a brand new line of her own stamps, Studio 313, with Clear Dollar Stamps. I was the lucky winner of her blog candy recently and really needed to get this little guy put down on paper! I popped the image for a 3~d look, textured the dp and hand stitched beads into the scallops of the circle. The beads on the hanger are strung on copper wire and secured using a wire~wrapping technique I use when making beaded jewelry. I've also covered the wooden plaque with mulberry paper.
Supplies: Clear Dollar Stamp set, Wood plaque, mulberry paper, My Minds Eye dp, Core~dinations dp, SU inks, Nestabilities scalloped round die~cut, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Martha Stewart fern punch, ribbon, beads, silk flowers, brads and machine stitching

Be sure to head over to the Midnight Madness site by clicking on our logo in the lefthand sidebar to check out all of the other samples created by my fellow DT friends and then come along and join us in the fun!!!
