Sneak Peak ~ Birthday Fairy

I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd be working on a birthday card for my niece. Well, it's almost done. So, I wanted to share what I have so far.

But first, I'd like to share with everyone what a wonderful Sunrise Service I attended this Easter morning. I've never attended a sunrise service before and it was simply amazing to see how many people took the time to get up while it was still dark to make their way to the UNM Football Stadium to celebrate Easter. The message of forgiveness was something I really needed to hear and it was beautiful. It's reminded me that I'm not as perfect as I wish I was, and that I never will be, but with the grace of God, I am forgiven. But, more importantly, so is everyone else. We were also lucky to have Randy Travis share his music with us this morning too. He is such a genuine and amazing person that has this amazing gift of music and he shared it with all of us this morning. I'll never forget it. Although, I'm not a huge country music fan, I do love a song with lyrics that really send a message of faith, love and hope. Randy Travis does just that.

So, here is the front of my Birthday Fairy card which is going to my niece next weekend. Whew! I've never attempted a "tri~fold" card before but was inspired to try after seeing Wendy's tutorial. Wendy, you made it look so easy! It's a little trickier than I anticipated, but definitely worth the extra effort.

Don't you just love how beautiful this fairly is?! I think she is perfect for a little girl's 10th birthday!

I'm still working out the details of the inside, so I'll try to show you pics when I finish. I've water~colored and glittered this fairy and also used pearlescent paint on her wings so they really shimmer. Of course I love adding bead accents and stitching! The flowers came from the bridal section at Michael's with rhinestones added in the centers. I made the butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch, using pink card stock and a layer of vellum which I first textured using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then more beads for the body of the butterfly.
I wish you all a peaceful and restful Easter Sunday! Thank you for stopping by. :)

Very nice Michelle, I love your fairy stamp and isn't it great to get an opportunity to card make for your family - I so need to do more of that and actually have been. Sad to say that even a card maker can't always keep up. I love all the embellishments and the Martha Stewart line - always things to take home from the craft store!!! Thank you for visiting my blog 'Under Construction'. Glad you had a nice Easter, I'm afraid I slept in but did celebrate later!
